Uniformitarianism, as meant here, encompasses the belief that the processes that shaped/changed the universe, and that will shape/change it in the future, are those that we observe shaping and changing the world and universe today. In today's world/universe, we see no spiritual or mystical powers at work, but rather only the relentless forces of physics, chemistry, and nature.

Uniformitarianism, as meant here, implies that the universe changes. Another meaning (not the one we mean) is given at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniformitarianism
Our goal is to build a site that will focus on the scientific aspects of uniformitarianism, as it relates to astronomy, geology, and biological evolution, including human evolution.
We expect to start working on this website/project in earnest by 2009.
